The front drinks terrace, with its view of the one-way street leading through Kassiopi, is an ideal spot to unwind and observe the locals going about their daily activities. For a serene atmosphere, head to the rear courtyard, where guests can relax with a good book under the old lemon trees while basking in the Mediterranean sun. In all the Trident bar, terrace and courtyard can accomodate approximately seventy five seated guests and as such offers excellent scope and potential.
The Poseidon Hotel was constructed in the late 1980's and underwent a refurbishment in 2014, meeting all EU regulations. The hotel is fully equipped and all necessary licences and building regulations have been obtained and adhered to. The building is connected to mains electric, water, and sewage systems, with a large internal water tank as a backup. During the 2014 refurbishment, new rooftop solar water heaters, aluminium shutters, thermo double glazing, air conditioning throughout, ceiling fans in the apartments, wrought iron balcony railings, laptop safes, kitchen appliances, bar equipment, bar toilet block, beds, and furniture were installed. Additionally, quality mattresses, bedding, and towels are replaced every 3-4 years.
Opportunities exist to enhance the hotel further with an indoor and outdoor restaurant, swimming pool, gym and owner's accommodation. Each apartment could be divided into 2 studio apartments.
The apartments, although spacious compared to others in Kassiopi, require some attention as they appear dated and could benefit from modern bathrooms and kitchenettes. The Poseidon Hotel is currently registered as a 2-star hotel. To upgrade to a 3-star rating, the hotel would need to increase the hours of a manned reception desk. To achieve a 4-star rating, a 24-hour manned reception desk and room intercoms system would be necessary. Unfortunately, there is no guest parking available on the premises. However, a large pay carpark is located just 40 yards from the hotel, and there are several public parking spaces within a similar distance. There is a designated area outside the hotel entrance for arrivals and departures only. There is no swimming pool on the premises. However, it is possible to install a small pool in the rear courtyard, which could be enjoyed by hotel guests and visitors from other accommodations. Please note that pools may bring with them a certain level of noise. Despite being in a central location, the hotel remains relatively quiet in comparison to the busy harborside or village square. Finally, there is currently no owner's accommodation within the complex. However, the large basement area, complete with several rooms, a bathroom and kitchen, previously served as the owner's quarters and could be refurbished for that purpose.
